There is a big housing shortage in parts of Sweden, especially in Stockholm. I live in Stockholm so I can assure you that this is a BIG problem. You will notice that for sure if you move to Stockholm or try to find a place to live. If you grew up in Stockholm you may live with your parents when you´re 20 to 30. How fun is that? And if you don´t have somewhere to live you may get homeless. I can also tell you that the apartments that are on sale are very expensive, one square meter costs 100 000 kr. Especially young people who are trying to find a place to live can´t afford that because it´s way too expensive. Stockholm is a growing. Thousands of people move here every year. Today around 1,4 million people live in our capital. There´s a lot of reasons why people move to Stockholm, for example to study, get a job or start a new life. Sweden is one of the countries in Europe that has the biggest urbanization. There are houses being built in Stockholm, which is good, but it´s not enough. And what bothers me is that the houses they build should be higher and smaller than what they build now. But what bothers me most is that many houses were meant to be higher but people appeal so the constructions never get built as it was planned. The solution to all these problems is to build more houses that are higher and smaller and limit the possibility to appeal. Build campus to all students. We should also decrease the urbanization in the country for examples creating jobs opportunities in all part of Sweden so the people stay where they grew up and don’t move to the bigger cities.
